BEFORE AND AFTER FOOTAGE FOR OPENING TITLE SEQUENCE

For this first clip, I created this using After effects. The effect I added is a strike of lightning going through the page as the slogan comes in from both sides. As soon as the slogan reaches the middle, the words fade out and the lightning disappears.

Review Footage

Timecode: 00:51:14 - 00:55:22

This shot works well because as the Protagonist is walking into the scene, the drone enters in sync with Jason. This works well because it demonstrates the idea that the drone is only focused on the student and his consequences in terms of what happens in the future.

Also, having the drone focused on the student only can increase the tension within the audience, because it makes us wonder what will happen with Jason.

After

This shot works well because we took a separate shot while filming of Jason throwing the tablet up in the air and catching it. Doing this made it work well because after cropping the clip, this allowed me to edit the drone to look as though it is dropping the tablet into Jason's hand.

Also, the clips are perfectly in sync with each other, which is good because it makes it overall look realistic and not edited when in reality it is.

Timecode: 01:29:10 - 01:33:12

This shot works well because as soon as Jason takes the pill, I edited the footage to seem as though it has caused an instant effect on the student in a negative way.

This works well because it instantly tells the audience that the drone is perhaps dangerous and didn't want to help Jason but instead manipulate him. This idea overall also causes tension within the audience because they are now unaware of what will happen to Jason.

During the shooting, as we changed locations, I noticed that the lighting is different depending on the shot (e.g. in the forest there wasn't as much as light as the field).

To fix this,  I changed the shadow level on all the clips to make them look similar in terms of lighting.

For this shot, we had to retake it, because we realised that the way we shot Jason with the green screen, he was too close to it, which overall would make it difficult to edit and made the green screen crop out of the clip. However afterwards, we went out again and changed the location of where the green screen was located so we had more space to record Jason.

For my matte painting, I imported royalty free clips of fire and smoke on a green screen from YouTube and edited these onto a royalty-free image of a hospital. This overall worked well because I placed smoke on the sides of the painting to seem as though it is going over the entire hospital.
